Probably cuz whenever it came on the radio I changed the station and I was only 8 when those songs were released. I didn't realize the album came out in 1994. I thought it was later in the 90s.

^ I still think you're going to break into song when you see these names:

I Only Wanna Be With You

AND....

Let Her Cry

^ And this is another album from the 90s I've always been planning on knowing well. But with this one, finally last year, I actually did.

^ What is your all time favorite 90s album?

I think I would go with Natalie Imburglia Left of the Middle. I actually had it on cassette and played it so much it broke but had that lifetime guarantee from The Wall (now FYE) so they replaced it. Eventually I got it on CD.

What were the first two singles from Blink-182ís commercial breakthrough album 'Enema of the State' ('99)?

ADT-related question: Did you know the 'nurse' on the cover was a porn actress?

^ This is a great album. I jammed to this in junior high...What's My Age Again and All the Small Things. I knew the girl on the cover is a pornstar though I don't remember her name.

^ Correct.

Around that time i was listening to an alternative radio station and this song came on. I'd never heard of the song, never heard of the band, but I just said (to myself) "that band are gonna be huge". The band turned out to be blink-182. (The song was 'What's My Age Again?')

[Mad Season]
I played Mad Season on the weekend, again, and it is brilliant!. I think I love almost every song.

“Rest Stop’ is amazing. I wonder why it wasn’t released as the ballad. The guitar on it is mesmerising.

The last song didn’t really work for me. But if you’re a fan of MB20 piano ballads, there’s a slow acoustic piano version of 3AM that is just beautiful. It’s just Rob Thomas vocals and playing (admittedly very average) piano, but it sounds amazing.

MB20’s third album ‘More Than You Think You Are’ is my favourite, it’s just pure rock. But I’m going to playing Mad Season a lot in the coming months.

As an aside for any hardcore MB20 fans, Rob Thomas’s 4th solo album is being released this week, and lead guitarist Kyle Cook has released his first solo album and is touring North America.

This was there breakthrough for sure. They had albums before this one but this brought them mainstream success. It also paved the way for bands like Sum 41, New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte etc. Their follow up album Take Off Your Pants and Jacket was very good and their self titled album was alright but then I lost touch with them. I never listened to their recent stuff. The only pop/punk band I still like from that era is Good Charlotte.

^^ Thanks for the review, I'm glad you really like the album! I'm not as familiar with their thrid album but I do recall there are a handful of really good songs. I haven't listened to it in years. I will have to revisit it and check it out on Spotify. I used to have the CD but sold it to FYE to by other CDs a few years back when I sold a bunch of old CDs to buy some new ones.

I will guess two. I'm not that good with 80s trivia but I will say two cuz I think George Michael went solo rather quickly.

^ Wow! A boyband question. The only NSYNC song I know goes 'Bye Bye Bye', so I'll have to go with that.

Related question: What was The Spice Girls second single?

^^ Correct. Follow up questions:

- What was George Michael's first solo album?

- In what year was it released?

- Name 'the other guy' in WHAM!?

^ Yes a boyband question lol Incorrect, Bye Bye Bye was from their second album. N Sync's first single was I Want You Back.

Hmm a Spice Girls question lol I could not stand them. Gee second single...the only thing that comes to my mind is If You Wanna Be My Lover but I think that was their first single. I will go with that song though.

As for George Michael I have no clue of the album title or year. I'm better at 90s triva and 2000s and on. I was a baby in the late 80s so its before my time.

As for "the other guy" in WHAM we talked about this in the Interesting and Amusing Questions thread...and I still forget his name! Poor guy lol

^ I didn't even know 'Bye Bye Bye' was the name of that song.

As for the answer (relating back to the Australian bands thread) the only 80s/90s song I know by that name is this ''

As for The Spice Girls, this question was asked at a music trivia as: 'Wannabe' was The Spice Girls' first single, but what was their second single? We had no idea, so we said 'Girl Power'. A few months later, they asked this question again, and i couldn't remember it. (Fortunately we had a young lady on our team this time, and they knew the song.)

As for Wham! yes, the other thread had this exchange

"I was actually going to ask 'who was "the other guy" in WHAM!', but thought that was a bit disrespectful."

"That's probably how people think of Wham...George Michael and "the other guy".

(And yes, I was testing you.)

Another 90s question: Who was the lead singer of Savage Garden?

^ Usually I have a good memory but you got me with Wham. I remember lots of sports stuff but not the other guy in Wham...that is probably how he introduces himself..."I'm the other guy from Wham." lol

The lead singer of Savage Garden is Darren Hayes. Their debut album is fantastic. I love To the Moon and Back. Break Me Shake Me is great too.

What is the name of the band known for their one hit wonder The Way?
I believe the song is from 1998.

Related question: who was 'the other guy' in Savage Garden?

I only vaguely remember a song called 'The Way'. Can I ask for a line from the chorus?

Next time you ask me I will remember!

"The other guy" in Savage Garden is Daniel Jones.

Yes here are some lyrics. This is the chorus...

"You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere. They won't make it home but they really don't care. They wanted the highway. They're happy there today, today."

Each letter represents the last letter in their names.

JustiN ChriS JoeY JasoN (former member) JC

Justin's mother said they were in sync.

I remember this cuz I read it the other day when I double checked the name of their first single.

^^^^ Correct. Follow up 90s music question: Who is Daniel Johns?

Thanks. I remember that song now. It was about a caravan trip that didn't end well. Funnily, I used to hear it on American Top Forty every week. But I can't remember the band's name. Give me another day or so; I'll see if it comes to me.

^^^ Correct. But I actually didn't know this, I read it in my music book yesterday.

^^ Correct. And you're right; putting personalities aside, it is actually a beautiful song.

^ Ummm... "The other girl"? Actually, I always remember her name because it's the same name as the actress who was married to Heath Ledger. Kelly Rowland was the name I couldn't remember (even though she is now basically entrenched as a talent show judge in my country.)

^ I have no idea who Daniel Johns is. Is he a lead singer of a 90s band?

I can provide you another hint if you need about the name of the band cuz then it might come to you.

Here is a 90s question...

What was the second single off of Britney Spears' debut album Baby One More Time?

^ Yes Daniel Johns was the lead singer of a (Australian) 90s band. I'll leave it open.

(But I'm actually very glad you have no idea who he is. It means you just appreciate artist's work and are not obsessed with their personal lives. Daniel Johns was married to Natalie Imbruglia from 2003-2008.)

With 'The Way', I don't think that it was actually played in my country. I only heard it on AT40. I don't think I'll remember their name.

Brittany Spears second single? Hmmm... sorry, don't know.

I had no clue he was married to Natalie Imburglia. I never heard of him until you posed the question. And yeah I know some things about artists I like and see things on Facebook but I just want good music and to know when they have new music coming out.

The name of the band was Fastball. Does that ring a bell?

Britney Spears' second single was Sometimes.

- It's probably more a female (and gay male) thing, having to know everyone a celebrity has been with.

(
Someone was kind enough to post this newspaper cutting of the wedding.
)

- Yes, I remembered that name now. (Actually, if I had a quiz style multiple choice, I would've got it.)

- OMG! I just looked up that song. I never knew that was Brittany Spears. I thought that song was great. (And I assumed it was called 'Time'.)

^ Funnily, they played that song at my pub trivia last week. The Verve. But I'm going to go out on a limb again and say The Verve are definitely not a one hit wonder. The only other song I can think of is 'Lucky Man', but I'm pretty sure they were huge in Britain.

^ The other hint I was going to give you would have given it away cuz I was going to say its a type of ptich in baseball.

Britney Spears has lots of good songs from her early days. I actually saw her in concert when I was 12 and she was very good. A great performer.

Correct it is The Verve. They only had success here in the states with Bitter Sweet Symphony. After that they weren't heard from again here. I figured they were big in Britain. I heard the song the other day in a store actually. Its a great song.

^^ If you like 'Bitter Sweet Symphony', check out the the follow up single from that album ''.

I'm not too sure what this means, but I saw this on Wiki: "the band's second top 20 hit on the BillboardModern Rock Tracks chart in the United States, climbing to number 16"

Yeah, Brittany Spears did have a few great songs. I remember an alternative band would play a Spears song at their shows. People assumed they were doing it as a joke; but they said they were playing it because it was a great song.

A-Ha = Take on Me (which became popular again after Weezer's recent cover, though not as popular as their cover of Toto's Africa)

Aqua = Barbie Girl
