No, it isn't, and any English professor will tell you the same. The sentences of mine that you want to claim "is a question" are, in point of fact, a challenge. People can draw their own conclusions regarding your continuing attempts to evade it.

One might, if one believed that my refusing to make a determination which is not mine to make is the same as you making a claim then refusing to defend it. However, I expect most people will see how ludicrous that is.

it is yours to make since your so clever. im sure you can think of a reason. the problem is you cant think of a reason that cant be used in support of polygamy or marriage between family members.
thats fine, i gave you the realistic answer.

Now you sound like a sixth grader. The trouble is we're not in sixth grade anymore, urthoughts.
If that childish attempt at obfuscation is the best defense of your argument that you can muster then it is safe to say that you've got nothing. Class dismissed.

I don't, but most sixth graders' parents wouldn't allowed them to be on the internet at 2AM in the morning.

Yes, people see Asians as more cerebral than whites. That's part of the pattern.

I have to add that poetry discrimination is a little more bearable than job discrimination, or mysteriously dying in police custody. I mean, if I had to pick.

Studies show that people have conscious and unconscious biases, including how they view Asians. I'm agreeing with you.
And perception of blacks by police (including black police) is also part of it.

Equating poetry 'discrimination' with race discrimination is so ludicrous that I can only conclude that urthoughts has been pulling our legs all along.

1.white writer does not get his work published as a white author + 2.gets the same work published when he creates a fictitious asian author = 3.racial discrimination not poetry discrimination
you didnt understand it because it wasnt the other way around. understandable since it didnt cater to the liberal agenda

Find me a liberal who doesn't consider racial stereotypes to include something along the lines of, "Asians are smart."

Oh, I understood it, all right. Nowhere does the article you linked to say that the poet resubmitted the same poem to the same publishers under his nom de plume. Lacking such evidence, we are being asked to believe that correlation is causation. It isn't.

the article was put out because it was racial discrimination. if the poet sent in two different poems it wouldnt be a story and the washington post wouldnt have brought it to our attention.
sometimes people expect you to use common sense.
i understand this story only works in an upside down world when an asian poet doesnt get his poem published until he tricks people into believing hes white. the only way to believe a white poet was discriminated against was if the person he sent the poem to came out with notorized statement admitting he or she was a racist. funny how we dont need the same burden of proof if the situation was reversed

You're wrong. I totally believed it the first time. It's not a controlled study with a large number of participants and a long-term trial, but it's not unbelievable.
That's why I agreed with you the first time; Asians are seen as being more intelligent. Then I stated that I agreed with you. And then I agreed with you again.
I don't know who you are arguing with, but it's not anyone here.
People have a notion that Asians are literate, scholars, intelligent, math geniuses, techies, etc. It is a burden to some of them, as a lot can be expected of them, and they may resent being expected to live up to someone else's expectations. Like everybody else, they want to be seen as individuals and not in a preconceived way. Liberals understand this. We just see it as a larger issue that prejudices against other groups sometimes have much worse consequences.
So, anyway, yes, I believe the poem was accepted after the guy faked a Chinese name. No, I am not going to march in the streets about it. But it's nice to shine a light on it, and spark a little discussion about it. Fine and dandy.
Learn to take yes for an answer.

So yes, Alexie was trying to get diversity among the authors in the anthology, and has been pretty honest about it.
Do you know much, urthoughts, about Sherman Alexie? It would be hard to make a case that he typifies editors in any way.

Pot, meet kettle.
The article was published because it makes an interesting story, the more so because people can argue over what it means.
Writers get rejected all the time, regardless of their race. And, again, the article you linked to does not say that Michael Derrick Hudson resubmitted his poem to the same publisher under a different name. It just says he changed to a 'nom de plume', so you haven't made the case that the same editor rejected the white American only to accept the exact same piece from a Chinese American.
Now, to the heart of the matter: the publisher, "...acknowledged that he was 'more amenable' to the poem because he thought its author was Chinese American. There was nothing explicitly culturally Chinese about the poem — indeed, it seems obsessed with imagery from Western culture — but that only made it more interesting to Alexie."
So, you can argue that the assumption that a Chinese-American perspective is different from an Anglo-American one demonstrates bias, but I'm not going to man the barricades over that.

Ammon Bundy took out $530,000 federal loan. The family gets all sorts of government subsidies and benefits.
I fail to see how they are so downtrodden.
By the way, much of the land was already locally controlled, until the local governments asked the feds to take it, because they didn't have the money to maintain it.

That's Harney County Sheriff David Ward, having a friendly meeting with Ammon Bundy, leader of the heavily-armed "protesters" that's have taken over federal property in Harney County, Oregon.

And here's law enforcement from 2014 having a friendly meeting with an unarmed protester in Ferguson, MO.

I don't see how the UC Davis photo fits the theme to this thread. Is it just a favorite of yours? As long as the Oregon occupation doesn't go the route of the Janet Reno/Waco situation, I'll support the friendly tactics.

[link inactive:404 - Page not found]Black Lives Matter calls Nashville city government white supremist because they will not let them have black only meetings in city library.
Yeah, what is going on in this city is that you have an idiot organizing your chapter of Black Lives Matter who doesn't understand one fucking thing about meetings held on city property. This guy needs to be kicked squarely in the balls by the ghost of Martin Luther King.

Yep, the library has to be open to anyone.
Possibly, the group means to exclude agitators, but they'll have to find (and have already found) a private place to hold their meetings.
I don't personally agree with their policy, either.

Back on the subject of the NFL, which started this thread...
I have no problem with Rob Gronkowski (other than the fact that he's on the MFing Patriots) nor do I have a problem with his "Gronk Party Ship" I ain't got no dog in that fight.
But holy shit, can you imagine if a Black player was doing this? Ochocinco or Terrell Owens? Can you imagine the Hurricane-Katrina-size shitstorm they'd be getting from sports writers (especially the older white ones)?

I am certain that any day now, the NRA will -- as they have done in other cases -- forcefully denounce the shooting death of Philando Castile, a man carrying a perfectly legal concealed handgun any day now and also mount a huge ass lawsuit against the St. Anthony police department on behalf of his girlfriend and child.
Any day now.....
Any.....day.......

I meant to post this before, but had forgotten about it until this week:
At Kenny Chesney concert in Pittsburgh, rowdy fans, all white,
And as the article shows, this wasn't even the first time. There was a similar mass riot when Chesney played Heinz Field in 2013.
No one as far as I can tell, was shot or harmed by police in any way at either show.
