Friends -
The "Golden Girls" thread with Blanche got me to thinkin'.
Who were or are the your favorite "classy" 'hos that you remember from television? You know the type; they look great, they dress well, they try to pass themselves off as more than they actually are. They even have just enough of a veneer of "class" to almost get away with it in polite society. But still, in high school they were the town pump and in adulthood their panties always stand at the ready to come off if the right guy or the right opportunity presents itself. They're easy, and their friends, family, and co-workers all know it.
My favorites:
Karen Walker (Megan Mullally) - "Will & Grace". My sole reason for watching this show with my old lady was her. Didn't care anything else about it. Had instant wood anytime she was on screen or opened her mouth. Outstanding comedic timing.
Saaaandra Clark (Jackee Harry) - "227". Big tits, a big ass, too tight dresses, and the fierce determination to use them all to get where she needed to go.
Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) - "Sex And The City". I didn't see a lot of this show, but I saw enough to catch this legend at work. A true 'ho's 'ho. What scruffy 'hos wanna be when they grow up. Completely in charge of her 'honess.
Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan) - "Golden Girls". What's not to like about an attractive, still got it, late 50's early 60-something trying to give it up? Worked for me.
Honorable Mention:
Suzanne Sugarbaker (Delta Burke) - "Designing Women". Yeah, I know Suzanne was a priss and fancied herself a discreet, genteel, Southern lady, but I KNOW she was a freak. I know she's got time under the bleachers in high school and fucked her way through some frat houses on her way to being Miss "It" in college. And I know that under all that bustle, gingham and pinafore, there is a live 'ho in residence. That WILL do what she has to do in a lockerroom and not feel bad about it later.
I don't know anything about daytime t.v. or nightime soaps, so I can speak to those genres.
BSD
I would include Patsy and Adina from "Ab Fab", but there is no pretense of class about them. They are just plain lovable skanks from the jump. British hood rats after my own heart.

I must mention Major Margaret Houlihan (MASH 4077). I mean the way she dropped Frank Burns for Donald Penobscot.....

My favorite moment from Will and Grace was when Karen gave advice to Grace about wallowing in self-pity. She said, "Oh honey, you need to get your head out of the dumps and your legs in the air."

Nicolette Sheridan's character (Edie) on "Desperate Housewives". She is an animal both professionally and promisciously. She's slept with a lot of the other character's love interests.
Ginger from "Gilligan's Island".
Fallon Carrington Colby (Emma Samms) from "Dynasty".
Valerie Malone (Tiffany-Amber Thiessen) from "Beverly Hills, 90210". She wasn't afraid to use her looks to get ahead and often dated guys only for their money.
BSD already named several of my favorites, including Karen from "Will & Grace", Suzanne from "Designing Women" and Blanche from "Golden Girls".
I'd also like to bring up a character who THOUGHT she was classy - Peggy Bundy from "Married with Children". However, she doesn't make the cut for this poll, cause she certainly couldn't pass herself off as classy in polite society.

I have a slight M*A*S*H addiction and this was the first person i thought of.
As military as Hot Lips tried to be, she sure got around the camp with all the visitors like General Iron Guts Kelly, Private Scully and the impotent Swedish officer etc etc.

Evelyn Harper (Holland Taylor) -
Charlie and Allans mom on Two and Half Men. she is a high class real estate sales woman but has had like five husbands and fucks guys to sell houses.
Also Heather Locklear in just about every TV show she was in.

She was the female version of Hawkeye Pierce ;-)
But in the later episodes she got more cool, like she wouldn't get involved with Corpsman Ignazio Desimone eventhough he did his best including a serenade in Italian *LOL*

^That change in her character came at the exact same time that Alan Alda started writing and directing episodes. This is not a coincidence.

I've thought about it and what about Elaine Benes? According to Petty she seemed to be with a lot of men. And I have to agree I mean she fell for that the Wiz guy while she was already with Puddy.

It's a good list, BSD. When I saw the thread title I was thinking of "Flo" from the Alice sitcom. I'm not sure about the classy part though.

No mention of Loni Anderson's character in WKRP? She worked as a receptionist for a mid market AM radio station that wasn't even doing that good in the Arbitron ratings yet she always had the snazziest clothes and fur coats and lived in a penthouse. She had to be doing some high end outcalls on her days off.

Cordelia on Buffy was kind of the high school version of that, at least at first.

Charisma Carpenters character on Veronica Mars were kind of what Cordelia could have ended up like if she had continued being bitchy and mean.

Cementing Relationships was one of my favorite MASH episodes. Joel Brooks was fantastic in this episode. MASH with Seinfeld are 2 of the greatest tv shows ever!

-Saved By The Bell: Kelly Kapowski (Tiffany-Amber Thiessen), Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley), Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies), Tori Scott (Leanna Creel), Stacey Carosi (Leah Remini), Lindsay Warner (Natalia Cigliuti), Rachel Meyers (Sarah Lancaster) and Katie Peterson (Lindsey McKeon). They were all girls next door that weren't shy about being good at it. I challenge you to name a network show that has inspired the launching of more loads.

-Star Trek: Lt. Uhura. You have to show some love to the sistas because The Great Bird of the Galaxy did for sure and the men aboard the Enterprise probably did. Anybody remember that great exchange from "The Squire of Gothos" episode:
Trelane (William Campbell): "Ah, a Nubian maiden!"
Uhura (Nichelle Nichols): "Sorry, neither!"
-Married With Children: Kelly Bundy (Christina Applegate). How did this thread get this deep without television's go-to 'ho?

Actually I haven't seen any good sites when it comes to MASH and MASH episodes. Maybe because MASH has older fans who aren't that active on the net or something. I'm hanging in the MASH newsgroup though.
My least favorite episode was Point of View. I didn't like the concept of seeing the episode POV. I also didn't like the episodes with Scully and Flagg.
We should have our own MASH thread so we can discuss who did you like better, Winchester or Burns, Hunnicut or Trapper, Potter or Blake etc.
Btw, I was also a big fan of Luther Rizzo and Igor Straminsky. Too bad they didn't get a lot of episodes to appear in.

Probably because this was the O/P's criteria:
Who were or are the your favorite "classy" 'hos that you remember from television? You know the type; they look great, they dress well, they try to pass themselves off as more than they actually are. They even have just enough of a veneer of "class" to almost get away with it in polite society.

-The Naked Brothers Band: Jesse (Jesse Draper). Gorgeous, good with kids, gets around.
-Scrubs: Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke). A quack with a first-class rack. Puts out on the fourth date-- one date later than the sluts, one date earlier than the prudes. Oh, and Jordan Sullivan (Christa Miller) from the same show. A trust-fund 'ho.
-NYPD Blue: PAA Donna Abandando (Gail O'Grady), Det. Diane Russell (Kim Delaney), Det. Rita Ortiz (Jacqueline Obradors), Laura Kelly (Sherry Stringfield). OK, so Russell has the drinking problem and Ortiz had the obsessive first husband. They were working women who liked having fun and would let you know when they wanted it.
-Murder One: Justine Appleton (Mary McCormick). A true lawyer, willing to fuck whoever she needed. Good in the courtroom though.

Friends -
As Tricia points out, when I started the thread, I probably didn't have the Kelly Bundy type in mind, but I gotta admit that in the purest sense, Christina Applegate as Kelly is probably the Greatest T.V. 'Ho Of All Time.
She was every male's 'ho fantasy, with the three primary attributes in full effect; gorgeous, easy, and stupid. It didn't get any better than that.
When you look up "T.V. 'Ho" in the dictionary, you should see a picture of Christina as you would see pictures of Heather Locklear or Joan Collins or Omarosa, if you looked up "T.V. Bitch".
She personified the term.
BSD
P.S. -
The one drawback with Kelly possibly may have been the underaged angle, but given the makeup of the Bundy's I don't think Peg and Al were all about pressing charges. They knew Kelly was a slut, it was just a matter of trying to control it.

Rue Mclanahan from the Golden Girls. I was so young at the time that I thought part of the comedy was a lady her age still on the prowl. I couldn't imagine getting it on with her when I was that age. In fact, it was comical to suggest anyone her age having sex. Now I'm 32 and if the offer presented itself, I would take her up on it.
Actually, scratch that thought. If the offer comes up today, it's probably because she now looks like the mother on that show (Estelle?).
What do you think of Chrissy/Cindy/Terry from Three's Company? They probably put out and you could take them home to Mother.
They'd earn higher marks with Mother than Kelly Bundy. Kelly Bundy and I are about the same age, so the under 18 over 18 issue wouldn't be as much of a barrier. I played guitar in bands back then, so I could have been in like Flynn
I have to admit, I would have rode the Nanny damn hard. Her outfits, lipstick, makeup, sexy little strut. I found her quite strokeworthy. Part of her appeal was her resemblance to real women that I knew and would see frequently.
Excellent poll!!

Rebecca wasn't a ho, though. Her not giving it up easily was a running gag on the show.

^ Unless the guy was rich.

^^ If anyone's still interested, the show was 'Veronica's Closet'. It was actually a question at a pop culture trivia I was at a few years ago.

I vaguely remembered it, and wanted to get it. But it actually hasn't been released on DVD due to rights issues.

^ So, now it is available on DVD

So it wasn't a rights issue. The rights holders just didn't think there'd be any interest.
