I like Patti Smith's version of Because The Night ...otherwise I can't stand the guy.

While I truly believe that The River was the beginning of the decline of the E-Street band, I positively love The Ties That Bind.

I can't pick just one. The Nebraska album is one of my favorites so:

- Aimee Mann and Michael Penn do a great version of this.

- The Johnny Cash version is great too.

- A little popish but catchy.

THE WHOLE ENTIRE "THE WILD, THE INNOCENT AND THE E STREET SHUFFLE" ALBUM WAS AN UNDER-RATED MASTERPIECE.
I always thought "Born to Run" was (is) so over-rated!

I'm glad to see a mention of Candy's Room, that's probably my favorite that I never hear much.

"Hey little girl, sittin' in the window..." from Darlington County goes through my head every time I find one of my kitties sitting on a window sill, and that song always runs into I'm Going Down for me, which makes those songs two of my favorites, and speaking of bleak songs, I'm also fond of One Step Up. I think Stringbeen is at his best on his depressing songs!

All, but if I had to pick, it would be: I'm on Fire , and the whole entire Born in the U.S.A. CD, in fact, I am listening to it as I type this out.

Right now, it's "Badlands", but in the past, my favorites have been, variously, "Rosalita". "Born to Run", and "Thunder Road"

Not a tremendous fan of the Boss, but I sorta worked a line from Born To Run into a Twitter/Facebook post this morning, so I guess that one wins by default; not sure I even know the lyrics to anything else other than Philadelphia.

Have you checked out Nebraska (I assume you probably have)? That's the one that converted me. I still prefer his acoustic stuff.

"Hungry Heart" is one of the best songs ever recorded, in my humble opinion. Otherwise, I can take or leave Springsteen.
