I never watched that show much, although it's better than Friends.
For me, at least.

In the early days of the show, I'd agree, but ever since it jumped the shark, as the kids say (I'd place that sometime right after Niles' divorce), it's been much worse.

You're right, it's slowly been running out of steam.

So it's ending? What have any of them got to worry about? They're all rich and well known, wasn't the show on for almost 10 years? What more do you need?

Incidentally,I was wondering if anyone familiar with Euorpean television,or tv in the UK could answer this:In your country do sitcoms or otherwise lighthearted shows ever have the stomach turning "very special episode...."?
I hate this.Especially when it's some silly show, they should stick to the damn laughs, dont' try and teach me some life lesson. What is that new show,American Dream,Amercian Family or something? Before the show even debuted the announcer says"The next great American drama.."Things are so prepackaged these days they try to manufacture the legend before the product hits the shelves.RRRRRRRRR!

Yeah, it´s a very talented dog family. But the original Eddie (or Moose) still appears from time to time in Frasier, when he doesn´t have to do complicated tricks. Everytime you see the dog stick its head under the pillow, it´s Moose.

They also appear on The Mask.

it probably jumped the shark when the whole Niles/Daphne thing became a reality in the characters lives and not Niles' wishful thinking. Still, how long has Kelsey Grammner been playing Frazier? 1983/84? Love to be getting his royality checks.

He did a movie inbetween, Down Periscope. Definately, he´s NOT movie star material...

wasnt it just really awful? i tried my best to watch it twice, but i got so so bored and stoped the tape, and all his other films have pretty much flopped. but with the amount of moneys hes made playing fraiser, does he need to really? i bet he'll do plays on broadway and london when frasiers done.

Down Periscope is an 80´s comedy that arrived 15 years late.

And Kelsey Grammer isn´t THAT charismatic for the big screen. In fact, even David Hyde Pierce is pretty boring. They really need to spend some time in the Ritz Brothers Clinic to de-tox themselves from their snotty characters.

Yawn....I used to watch Frazier all the time but lost interest as of late. They really should just end it IMHO.

I used to love Frasier and agree it hasn't been so good lately. A few good episodes here and there, but every episode used to be pretty incredible.

As far as Kelsey and David, they do amazing voice work in animation. Kelsey also has a great singing voice, and I could easily imagine him doing some Broadway stuff for a little bit after the show finishes.

I haven't heard of Kelsey singing, but I could really easily see him moving to stage. David used to be very active in theater, and I think he even spent several years her in Minnesota at the Guthrie Theater.

...or, better yet, a Simpsons spin-off for Sideshow Bob (let us not forget his stirring rendition of HMS Pinafore, while we're on the topic of his singing) and his brother...

Frasier, like Friends, is suffering the Seinfeld syndrome. They should've ended while they were still fresh and on top. Their latest seasons have become stale and boring it's not funny.

Perfect!
My junior high did HMS Pinafore as our yearly musical, so that episode was especially classic for me.

Astro - that's Kelsey singing the Frasier theme.

Hey baby, I hear the blues a-callin'
Tossed salad and scrambled eggs
Oh My!
Mercy (alt: Quite stylish.)

And maybe I seem a bit confused,
Yeah maybe, but I got you pegged!
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!
But I don’t know what to do with
those tossed salads and scrambled eggs.
They’re callin’ again.

(The following are the various alternate endings)

They’re callin’ again.
Good night, Seattle, we love you.
What is a boy to do. Good night.
Frasier has left the building.
Thank You!
Scrambled eggs all over my face.

What is a boy to do. Good night, everybody.
See you next year, we love ya.

I also seem to remember Kelsey singing in an episode or two (plus I saw him sing on a Tony's broadcast one year).

DOH! That's right! I forgot that Kelsey sang the Frasier song, and remember that I was really surprised it was him when I first found out.

Two thoughts:

1. Kelsey Grammer was pretty good in the 2001 movie "15 Minutes," playing against type (kind of like Greg Kinnear in the movie about Bob Crane).

2. When Hollywood remakes "Caddyshack" (and you know they will, because they are powerless to resist doing stupid things like remaking "Caddyshack"), Kelsey should play the Ted Knight role.

Hmmm... so Frazier ended in 2004. Maybe it's reboot talk time.

I think the star was really John Mahoney (RIP). He was brilliant. (And I'm assuming all American's now know 'Martin Crane' was actually played by a Brit.)
