This from Porn Pool...
The original poster is essentially asking what our experiences have been. I'd rather he ask us than some whacked out Evangelical group. What are they going to do - try to exercise the Devil in Miss Jones out of him?

I have a feeling at least some of the entries in this thread may be a result of people completely mangling spellings so that they didn't have a word at all, not in commonly accepted American English, anyway, but when spell check gave them a list of possible words they might have meant, they didn't read all the spell check word suggestions as carefully as they should have.

From a story: "It's only a matter of time before we severe our relationship with him."
I guess they'll be making the relationship much harsher.

From a story: "...gradually permutated my day and night dreams."
So, night dreams will show up during the day, and vice versa? (I assume the author meant "permeated" here.)

"I also eat fresh asparagus I cook almost every day and there's kale in my frig now in addition to the usual onions, bellpeppers, tomatoes, etc."
Sounds painful. I dread to think what the "etc" might entail!

Ok, this is a proper malapropism, a comment found on one of the groups I'm a member of on facebook:

^ For me, the critical funny part of the sentence is "for a while." I like the casual nature of it.

From the Porn Pool this morning:
"to get hard a cock must be filled with blood which as an added effect makes it more sensible."
In fairness, English isn't the poster's first language... but it's still funny.

Actually, that's correct. "Sensible" is synonymous with "sensitive." I'm guessing he meant to write the latter, but that's a proper usage.

^ Are you sure about that?
From thesaurus.com:
"sensible means showing reason or sound judgment; sensitive means responsive to physical stimuli or having the capacity or ability of perceiving with a sense or senses "
This is what I always thought.

It's usually the fourth or fifth definition, and this usage is little archaic, but it's totally fine.

I meant sensitive , killbill is right ,I come here every now and then I find this topic helpful , actually.
Now that it comes to mind , yes it was funny , I was explaining how an erection works, so to talk about the sensibility of a dick , IS funny
EDIT
My Oxford Dictionary also reports it with the meaning of sensitive but it's archaic.
My English is not good enough , I can't claim I knew that and used it on purpose , it's not

No, it was nothing like that. I was just going to say that I knew which word you were trying to use, but as luck would have it, the word that you did use was correct. But I felt like I was beating a dead horse.

But yes I looked it up too, and yes I do acknowledge that you are correct, joachim. I've learned something new today. :)

Eh, even if he'd used the right word, that sentence would still be fucked. Never end a sentence with a preposition.

Though the wording of the quote is disputed, Churchill supposedly responded to this with the line:
"This is the type of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put."
Sometimes it just seems better to ignore the rules.

My preference to a comment like that is something like "I'm sorry. Remember who you're talking to, Asshole!"

IMDB is a gold mine for this poll. Here's one from an IMDB thread about Richard Dawson:
"He always preached about people 'being nice to each other' yet he anything but nice to his co-stars and piers, dating back to Hogan's Heroes."
