Has anyone been able to join a site like Brazzers, Jules JOrdan, or Elegant Angel with a prepaid card? You are supposed to be able to use them for on line purchases after you register the card.
Credit cards are my kryptonite and I am trying to get through life without one. Having much better success just paying cash for my stuff.
Thanks in advance for your help

I'm thinking that adult sites might prefer to decline prepaid cards as there's little to prevent minors from using them.

Or there's little to do when you make nearly impossible to cancel a membership especially those gotten forgetting to cancel some marked additional conditions and memberships while joining
once emptied there's no money to get from a prepaid card , yes a membership is a contract , so they can sue the one who escaped from refilling his prepaid but then they would have to explain to a judge why the membership cannot be cancelled...

I always use a prepaid card, just wouldn't use my credit card for such. I haven't had a problem yet, however, I also make sure the card I purchase is one that requires you to verify your personal details for the reasons mentioned above by Hardware. The card I use is MasterCard® from a company called Kalixa which I've used for Evil Angel, Elegant Angel, Kink.com and various VOD services amongst many others sites.
I'm not sure if this info is any use to you but here (UK) we can buy vouchers from almost any news agent, they're called UKash vouchers which come in two forms, under 18s and over 18s. I've used these on various UK sites but also used it for a Brazzers week long membership. I know these vouchers are not available in the US but you may want to see if a similar scheme is available on some sites.

I know that Kink.com will take a check (written to their legal name Cybernet Entertainment LLC) sent to 1800 Mission St., San Francisco, CA (I don't have the zip handy but it is obtainable from usps.com).
I don't know about other sites accepting checks but I would suspect that many would if asked.

I have almost no faith in these companies to keep billing details secure and confidential, or to cancel a membership when directed to -- there's no way I'm giving them access to my credit cards.
In the US, the easiest thing that I've found is to get a pre-paid gift card like they sell at big box retailers, grocery stores, etc. Be sure to get ones that say "To shop online, you must register your card at XXXXXXX" or something. You'll need to enter a name and address on the website (walmartgift.com) but there's nothing that ensures it's an actual name or address. Best solution I've found for website memberships; it works exactly like a credit card - but it's got to say you can use it online; from my experience only Visa gift cards say this.
When Digital Playground got hacked, I saw my fake name, throw-away email, and knew they only got the banking information for a used-up gift card. No worries at all about these site's lousy security/ethics.

OLJ gave some helpful info I had no idea about. I used my credit card at adult websites and have not YET had an issue but I do not feel safe doing so.
I posted a link but then removed it because the rules say no tube sites allowed here.
If you go to youtube, type in the search field the words "wthr the risk inside your credit card"
The video you watch which lasts 6 minutes is worth watching, and will blow your mind.

I'm using ten years now and had no issues , though I had an issue from a Hotel Reserving services site , the very moment I paid they didn't get the money they did the day after , by midnight someone just spent the VERY SAME AMOUNT right to the cent on a poker site , I was sure it was the hotel but then I realized I was billed twice , I asked and they said MY PC was hacked which was bullshit

I've never had one issue with using my credit cards and porn sites. There are plenty of reputable CC processor but my favorites are Epoch first and then CCBill. The reason why I put Epoch ahead of CCBill is because CCBill has a tendency to do Regional pricing.

Exactly! Just so long as you only do that with a gift card and not a reloadable card. Reloadable cards should be avoided in most cases, really.
Any Visa, MC or Amex prepaid or gift card will work at any site that accepts the "regular" version of those cards. I've never had any problems with them. The red light for prepaids is gas stations; it's a pain in the ass using them at self-serve pumps as the pumps want to put a hold on a certain amount of credit card funds.

I never knew you could use fake identity for prepaid cards. This is indeed a revelation.

RFID is not the only risk. There is also NFC used by smartphones which they want to use as basis for charging products using your cell phone. The newer Android phones have it and its already been hacked. Its amazing how they come up with this stuff without vetting the security.
BTW RFID chips are also on products you buy from stores like Walmart. They can potentially be used to track what you buy. But they claim its used for inventory and checkout only.

Not all of them only those labeled as "gift" since they are supposed to be given to somebody else they aren't bound to any data you just have to register them ,you can do that with a name of your choice

I would think for adult website purchases a prepaid card should work as well as a standard debit or credit card unless the site is using the CC as proof that someone is an adult.
As for debit cards and self-serve pumps my bank has banned all pay at the pump transactions with their debit cards because of the gas station holding $75 for 2-3 days after the transaction (no matter what the amount) until the actual charge settles. Of course you can still walk in the gas station and pay as usual without an excessive hold being placed on the card.

In my experience it has to be a card that can be registered and not just any gift card. I know this because I picked up an AmEx gift card a few years ago only to find out that I couldn't order some (physical) porn with it -- so far as I know, they need to be registered to a (real or fake) physical address and to a (real or assumed) name to be used in e-commerce.
For guys with wives/girlfriends, or apartments with either little security for packages or too much security (doormen give you your mail) using gift cards and renting a mailbox at a UPS store is a great way to maintain online privacy for your porn.

Update Question: Has anyone here been successful in joining Elegant Angel with prepaid card in the last couple of months? I am having trouble and wonder if Visa is blocking the charge.

I just wish they would take Paypal.
I don't trust them with my credit card details and I'm not signing up for ever!
So they miss out on my business.

PayPal refuses to process for adult items, evidently they are owned by a religious nutcase. I know of many companies that tried and were refused by the assholes at PayPal.

Paypal is owned by Ebay and their CEO is John Donohue
He is a wanker, but I don't know his religious persuasions.

Is it possible that Elegant Angel is considered a foreign company? I was ready somewhere that Prepaid cards are not permitted to be used for overseas transactions.
Seems a bit hard to imagine. Isn't Elegant Angel located in Porn Valley?

What part isn't working? If your prepaid VISA is able to handle internet commerce, it should work (assuming EA's credit card processor hasn't blacklisted them due to chargebacks). If your card can't be registered to an address, the transaction will probably fail.

Thanks, OLJ. Useful advice here. This has been my m.o. these last couple of years.
I'd add this: don't get cards that need any registering. Who needs to be bothered with that? Vanilla Visa is a good company -- you buy the gift card and make online purchases without any registering.

^ The vanilla Visa gift cards I purchase at Wal-Mart need to have a zip code registered before online purchases can be made. I call the toll free number on the front of the card and enter the information requested when prompted. The same holds true for Master Card gift cards. I check the balance online. I haven't tried to use one for monthly billing from web sites yet.
(edit to note use of a vanilla card for re-occurring billing)
Last night, I made a second attempt to join POVD.com. No success, again. Damn. So, what are my options? I can't use my credit union credit card because of "Operation Choke Hold" by the Department of Justice and my Vanilla Master Card gets rejected too. I had hoped they would at least allow me to purchase a 3 month subscription, then, when it expires I get a new vanilla gift card. No such luck.
Excellent quality resolution productions of POV content, all out of my reach.

I recently found that the United States Postal Service has credit card gift cards for sale at the post office.
My local post office has them (yours probably does too).
(a) You don't have to give them any personal information to buy one
(b) You will have to pay the "merchant fee" (i.e. the amount merchants typically have to pay to the credit card companies when they process your card, usually 1-1/2-to-3% of the transaction).
So, if you buy a $100 credit card gift card at the Post Office, it will actually cost you about "$105.00."
They have various denominations available.
I plan on using these in the future when making purchases on our seedy porn websites.
Also, I'd like to join for one year -- one of the least trustworthy websites around -- to re-establish contacts and post information with high school friends/classmates I've lost contact with.
Classmates is notorious for sharing/selling your personal information, and auto re-billing you at full prices -- which is next to impossible to stop.
They are a legitimate site, otherwise.
So, we'll see if the various websites accept the Postal Service credit card gift cards without issue?
Whatever denomination(s) I purchase, I plan on burning-off whatever excess funds are left to a zero balance at the gas pump, after joining a site(s).

^ you might try Facebook as an alternative to Classmates. I found my high school has some "pages" for various class years; there's also a page that collects the names of all the former students and faculty who've died. There are a number of my classmates who are on Facebook via those pages. The other good thing is--if you find one or two former classmates, then you get the links to classmates who friended them, and so on. You can move through your former school like a venereal disease.

^ Actually, my class has quite a presence on Classmates.
I have access, but since I'm not a paid member there are things that have become hidden to me and I cannot post.
As for Facebook -- and all other social media, like Twitter, etc. -- I will NOT join any of them.
BTW, did you know that Facebook will n longer allow users to use ad blockers?

^ saw it. I'm very good at visually ignoring most ads on a webpage, so it doesn't really bother me one way or another. But I find the ad-blocker/anti-ad-blocker battles amusing.

I've decided to stick with online retailers to obtain content. Joining web sites is just too much of a hassle for me. It's like those contracts satellite companies have.

Goldstein -- I didn't know about that -- good to know. And yes, like with your Classmates plan, I also use the gift cards at non-porn retail sites whose data-mining and -sharing practices, not mention security, are questionable.
Dogzcatcher -- I'm not sure why you are having to register the Vanilla card. Vanilla makes reloadable cards that may require that, but the non-reloadable gift cards are ready-to-use without any registration.
The main problem with the gift cards purchased in the U.S. is that they won't work at an offshore biller. So for Girlsway (Canada) and Sapphicerotica (Europe), to name just a couple examples, your U.S. gift card won't work.

Good news for gift card users: burningangel.com, a site which has an offshore biller, has found a way to process membership payments via retail gift cards. These are not the VISA gift cards, but are gift cards branded as "Home Depot", "Best Buy" etc. etc. Maybe other offshore-biller sites will do the same.

More good gift card news: Mile High Media (which includes Sweetheart Video for all you g/g fans) is going the same route as Burning Angel and enabling a membership purchase via a store-branded gift card. It's a really long list of cards as you can see at the biller's page [link inactive:404 - Page not found]here. Important: The biller takes the entire card balance. If a month's membership is 25 bucks and you have $35 on the card, they take the whole $35 and prorate you a month plus extra time.

Looks like now Evil Angel and Girlfriends Films have made the retail store card option available for memberships (via Paygarden). No fussing around with credit card, or even a name -- Great news!

Damn, the good news keeps on coming . . . now offers prospective users the retail-store-brand gift card option via Paygarden. A nice alternative to dealing with some of these billing companies. Excellent!

Also makes the retail store gift card option available. Sweet.

It's getting hard to keep up with the sites who are offering the retail store card option. I recently discovered that and have jumped on the bandwagon. Nice!

And let's not forget good ol' , which has also decided to cut the porn consumer a break and make it easier for us to access their content (while they still make money). It's all good.

Do websites allow downloads when using PayGarden, or just streaming? Is there a minimum payment to enable downloads?

Yes.
In the sites I've used there is no difference in content/site behavior when joining via a gift card vs a conventional membership.
