Excerpts from the article:

Western University in London, Ont., was left scrambling to issue an apology Monday after comments made during a convocation speech angered graduates and ceremony attendees.

Oscar and Grammy-nominated musician Stephan Moccio, the man behind hits including Miley Cyrus’s tune ‘Wrecking Ball,’ was at the ceremony to receive an honorary doctorate of music and give a speech.

In a seemingly tone-deaf walk down memory lane referring to his own studies in London decades ago, Moccio recalled “driving in off the 401 with a sign that said ‘thank you fathers for dropping off your virgin daughters,’” and recited a song about an all-female residence, the lyrics of which ostensibly implied oral sex.

A loyal dog showed police where his elderly owner fell into a ditch and stayed by his side as he was treated by medics.

The man was out walking his pooch in the Irish midlands on Monday night when he fell and was unable to get up.

Irish police released a heartwarming image of the faithful hound peering into the ambulance where his owner was receiving treatment.

Excerpts from the article:

U.S. authorities seized 33,000 pounds, or 15,000 kilograms, of cocaine from a ship at Philadelphia's port in what they described as one of the largest drug busts in American history.

They said the haul could have been worth more than US$1 billion on the street.

The U.S. attorney's office in Philadelphia announced the massive bust on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, saying that law enforcement agents found the cocaine on a ship at the Packer Marine Terminal. Two members of the crew were arrested and face federal charges.

Excerpts from the article:

A man who donated sperm so his gay friend could have a baby more than a decade ago has parental rights over their daughter, Australia's High Court ruled Wednesday.

The court said that because the man was listed on the birth certificate and had an "extremely close" relationship with the girl, he was the father and should have a say in whether she is taken to live in New Zealand.

The man -- who goes by the pseudonym 'Robert' for legal reasons -- agreed to donate his sperm to a friend in 2006 via artificial insemination.

Excerpts from the article:

There is "credible evidence" linking Saudi Arabia's crown prince to the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi last October, an independent UN rights expert said Wednesday, calling for an international investigation.

In a fresh report, UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions Agnes Callamard said she had "determined that there is credible evidence, warranting further investigation of high-level Saudi Officials’ individual liability, including the Crown Prince's."

The report stressed that "no conclusion is made as to guilt. The only conclusion made is that there is credible evidence meriting further investigation, by a proper authority, as to whether the threshold of criminal responsibility has been met."

Excerpts from the article:

Ontario Premier Doug Fraud’s chief of staff has resigned one day after reports surfaced that he had personal ties with two new government appointees set to live abroad and make six-figure salaries.

Fraud’s office confirmed the sudden departure of Dean French on Friday evening, less than 24 hours after the Globe and Mail reported that French had personal relationships with two agents-general posted to London and New York City.

In a statement, the premier did not address the controversy but instead thanked French for his friendship and for leading his successful 2015 election campaign.

Excerpts from the article:

The Canadian government imposed sanctions against four high-ranking Nicaraguan government officials Friday, citing “gross and systemic” human rights violations in the country.

The sanctions aim to target what Global Affairs Canada called a systematic campaign of repression and state-sponsored violence against public protests and groups opposing the Nicaraguan government.

“Human rights violations in Nicaragua cannot continue with impunity. The Government of Nicaragua must be held accountable for its action and must bring an end to the current crisis through real dialogue with opposition groups,” read a statement issued by Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland.

Foriegn Office Minister Mark Field assaults Greenpeace protester.

At the Annual Mansion House Dinner where the great and good of Business and Finance attend a dinner. The Chancellor of the Exchequer makes the annual speech
and was interupted by a group of Greenpeace protesters protesting about Climate Change. As you will see in the clip in this link below one protester breaks away from the group and makes her way around the tables heading towards the top table. Mark Field looks up then gets up to try to stop her all in a few seconds. He grabs her around the neck and, according to Greenpeace, pushes her against a pillar, he frog marches her out of the room. Mark Field has been suspended following these actions.
Greenpeace say their protester was assulted by Mark Field by pushing her against the pillar, you can clearly see that she STEPS BACK against the pillar Field did not push her. The protester gets her 15 minutes of fame by saying Field should get anger management. The protester is carrying a small handbag which could have carried a knife, a gun or a bottle of acid.

I say this. The protesters were not supposed to be there. They were not even invited. They could have all stood outside the building chanting, waving their banners. No problem. Also why would they need to protest in the UK when the UK Government have committed to Zero % emmissions by 2050. No other country as committede to that in the whole world. If they wanted to protest anywhere they should protest outside The White House in Washington where they have a Climate Change denier in residence.

The entire article:

The RCMP made two arrests on Friday in connection to the death of a young woman whose body was found in a burned-out vehicle in Surrey, B.C., two years ago.

Gurvinder Deo, 25, and Talwinder Khun Khun, 22, were arrested by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and charged with accessory after the fact to murder, as well as offering indignity to human remains.

A new charge of indignity to human remains has also been laid against 21-year-old Harjot Singh Deo, who was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in May.

Police say Harjot Singh Deo was in a romantic relationship with 19-year-old Kiran Dhesi, who received a life-saving kidney transplant six months before she was killed.

With the latest arrests, a total of five members of the same family have now been charged in connection to Dhesi's death.

Deo's mother, 53-year-old Manjit Kaur Deo, as well as his sister, 23-year-old Inderdeep Deo, were both arrested in May and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

RCMP confirmed that newly arrested Gurvinder Deo is Harjot Singh Deo's brother and Talwinder Khun Khun is an extended family member, but police would not give details on how they're related.

RIP Kiran

Excerpts from the article:

Federal Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer acknowledges that his proposal to cap emissions from big polluters will include the government setting a cost per tonne of excess emissions, but he won’t call it a price.

A big piece of his plan is to force large-scale polluters—those who emit more than 40 kilotonnes a year—to reinvest in certified emissions-reducing technology a “set amount” for every tonne they emit over the limit, instead of paying penalties to the government.

What a fucking hypocrite, eh? smh. Trudeau's already doing that, numb nuts!

Not clicking your dodgy links.

This story is dodgy.

She married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a British citizen.

I couldn't find any reputable source on google to click on, but I clicked one that is probably not malware, and although it was some nutty conspiracy theory stuff, even that site didn't say anything more than that it was POSSIBLE he was her brother, based primarily on the fact that someone claimed to have found the guy's name in the source code of some work done on Ilhan Omar's sister's computer.

As snopes said:

Anyway -- if someone can bring her British citizen brother here by just saying he's her brother, there's not much reason to say he's her husband.

Boring. I lose all interest in this one.

I call 'distraction'.

Well, this thread is NEWS FEED, so it should be news, not unverified wild speculation. If it's posted as a question or a hypothetical, it's not news. Maybe start a thread for speculation about imaginary stuff.

NASA scientists have tried to explain a mysterious white light captured in a photograph of the surface of Mars.

A NASA spokesperson told Fox News the anomaly is "likely an effect of the Sun" and "images with effects like this" are seen "pretty routinely."

San Francisco on Tuesday became the first major U.S. city to effectively ban the sale and manufacture of electronic cigarettes, as concerns grow over a sharp rise in vaping among youths.

The city's legislature unanimously approved an ordinance suspending the sale in shops or online of e-cigarette products that lack approval by federal health authorities. No such approvals currently exist.

Backers said the ban was necessary due to the "significant public health consequences" of a "dramatic surge" in e-cigarette use among teenagers.

Single-use cutlery is among the world’s biggest non-biodegradable sources of garbage.

Researchers at Columbia University have found that excess time spent sitting while watching TV can be linked to a greater risk of cardiovascular disease and early death than sitting at work.

According to the study, people who sit in a sedentary behaviour -- long, uninterrupted periods of time without any movement -- were found to have a higher risk of cardiovascular disease including heart attacks and strokes.

Sajjan was asked about Canada’s plans regarding the child at a Tuesday press conference detailing the government’s partnership with The Romeo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative, but while stressing that “Canada takes its responsibility to its citizens very seriously,” Sajjan said they could not make any decisions that would put anyone else at risk.

The Chinese Embassy said Tuesday it has asked Canada to suspend all meat exports, a surprise move that comes amid the diplomatic dispute over the December arrest of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou in Vancouver.

The latest Chinese move comes as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to depart Wednesday for a G20 leaders' summit in Japan, where he is expected to rely on U.S. President Donald Trump to raise the plight of two detained Canadians during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The embassy said in a statement to The Canadian Press on Tuesday that this latest move follows Chinese customs inspectors' detection of residue from a restricted feed additive, called ractopamine, in a batch of Canadian pork products. The additive has permitted uses in Canada but is banned in China.

Interesting case.

"Mitsubishi has been ordered to refund a ... motorist two years after he bought a 4WD that guzzled more fuel than was advertised on a "misleading" sticker on its front windshield."

"was specifically seeking a more fuel-efficient car when he bought the brand new 2016 Triton ... from... Mitsubishi in 2017."

"He took the car into the dealership three times in 2017 and then to a separate Mitsubishi dealer in 2018 asking for its fuel consumption to be checked, but no fault was found."

"the tribunal found the tests showed the sticker results couldn't be reproduced "on-road"."

"The manufacturer said there were testing methods, accepted under regulations, that could lead to more attractive results and said this accounted for the discrepancy."

The skinny dog is seen sat on the armchair strewn on the grass next to a broken TV and mattress.

“To the person that dumped this chair, your puppy was waiting for you to come back, slowly starving to death because it was afraid to leave the chair to find food,” Norton wrote in the post.

“Shame on you for doing this to this puppy… one day karma will meet up with you.”

CONSUMER ALERT!

Excerpts from the article:

Pet food products widely available in Canada are being investigated in the U.S. for possible connections to a disease that can be deadly for dogs.

The Food and Drug Administration has received more than 500 complaints about cases of canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) potentially linked to consumption of certain brands of dog food. Although a few of the complaints date back to 2014, the vast majority have come in since the FDA first notified the public about its concerns last summer.

DCM is a disease that makes it difficult for a dog’s heart to pump blood through the rest of its body and can lead to congestive heart failure. Prognoses vary wildly between breeds, but the disease can be fatal.

Surgeons in Australia have managed to restore arm function in paralyzed patients, allowing them to feed themselves, use tools and handle electronic devices, according to the results of a groundbreaking study released Friday.

Thirteen young adults who had suffered spinal injuries rendering them tetraplegic underwent several operations and intense physiotherapy in the largest ever application of a technique known as nerve transfer surgery.

A team of surgeons succeeded in attaching individual nerves from above the zone of the spinal injury to nerves below the trauma site. The functioning nerves were then used to stimulate paralysed muscles below the injury zone.

Dog food is made from stuff that isn't fit for human consumption, and it isn't regulated with any seriousness. I haven't given my dogs dog food ever, and I've had dogs all my adult life, so I've been feeding home cooked meals since the 70's. Over 40 years.

It's not that big a deal. After you develop a routine, you just do it without much fuss. Dr. Pitcairn's book has all the info anyone needs to feed healthy food that has the nutrients your dog needs. We are vegetarian and feed vegetarian food to our dog -- oats or brown rice with eggs or cottage cheese and a supplement mixture. And dogs love shredded carrot, cooked broccoli, and a lot of other vegetables. Our dogs live long lives. Weimaraners, for instance, have a life expectancy of ten or eleven (some say ten to twelve), and ours was over 15 when he died.

Our dog also gets good 'table scraps,' for example she often has cheese omelet and a bit of toast for breakfast with us. Our dogs have been ecstatic about what we feed them, and not interested in some other dog's kibble when we are at other people's houses.

Dogs' lifespans are getting shorter now, due in part to food made from industrial waste and due to over-vaccination. [Not vaccination, over-vaccination. For instance, when we were in Arizona, they required a rabies shot annually. It's a three-year vaccine, and here in Oregon, it's required every three years. But in Arizona they required it every year. Why? The people making the rules consider dogs to be disposable property. Somehow, they either think that dogs are filthy and disease-ridden and "you can't be TOO careful," or perhaps they just think it's easier to keep track of things if dogs are vaccinated annually, and it saves an employee four seconds every time they don't have to look at last year's records to see whether the dog already has a still-valid vaccination. Whatever. At any rate, it's unconscionable.]

If you have a pet, please learn about such as (often in dog food, but not listed on the label). It's just one of many, many sneaky additives. Ethoxyquin was developed as a pesticide related to agent orange (which works by sealing the plant's root so it can't absorb water, if I remember correctly, and the pet food companies like it because it seals water absorption so dogs don't have loose stools, so pet owners like that and keep buying the food. But the companies don't want it on their label, so they buy fats that already have ethoxyquin in them, and that makes it not a direct additive).

When it's not deemed important enough for you to hear about it on the news. You have to actively research it. Or take the easy road, and feed your dog home-prepared food so you control what's in it.
