+1 No, I hope this whole reality tv trend has run it's course. I mean how many times can someone watch contestants eat horse rectums and cow's eyes, or listen to some glorified Karaoke contest. It's enough to drive a person to pulling an Elvis by putting a bullet through their tv sets!

+1 for No

I have enough reality at home to deal with, much less waste time watching it on television.

Ditto. I scarcely watch TV at all, and I can't stand the overwhelming amount of reality tv there is out there. When are we Americans gonna come up with something of our own for once instead of stealing stuff from Europeans?

I hate reality TV but networks love it. They can hire a bunch of no names to be in the show and pay them nothing. If they had real shows with real actors they would have to pay big bucks and that isn't good for their quarterly earnings reports. Networks are like typical American corporations these days, cut, cut, cut costs. They are thinking of the shareholders, not their consumers.

I multiply that by an order of 10! (maybe even 100!) -- I HATE reality TV.

OMG Bubba Ho Tep was the SHIT. I was rolling through that entire movie. The best part is when Elvis lays out all his stuff, and when he lays out his outfit he says, "BIG check on that, baby."

Hmm, this requires considerable deliberation. How about NOOOOO!!!
-2³² reality TV.

You're welcome to it. If only you'd keep the damn stuff on your side of the pond once you've nicked it.

PS Sun: Nice new avatar. Tres tres bestiole de caresse. (No I don't really speak French. So if I said "your mother wears army boots", I apologise. Unless she actually does. In which case I apologise for inferring it was something that required apologising for in the first place.)

-1 Reality TV even though I like watching Real World and Cops. I do not like Survivor, Bachelor, Bachelorette, Fear Factor, or Apprentice.

I'm afraid Apprentice is guilty pleasure, but I'd gladly give it up if all the rest would go away.

Why thank you, Kperv. It was a picture Rog of rogreviews.com took of me at the ADT party this year, as if you hadn't already guessed. Umm, I don't speak French either, but I do speak Spanish. I felt the gist behind the words, if anything.

For the most part, there's a loud "OH! HELL NO!"

Except for cooking and home reno shows.

I thought in America such shows were now called "scripted reality"?

Re. the home renovation shows, I've been watching the American shows, and I really appreciate the way they show the hosts bringing in professionals to do the renovating. In my country, they have contestant home reno shows, but make it look like the contestants do all the work.

As an aside, does anyone know Sherrie Barbour?

My answer is "Hell to the fuck NO!" for most of it.

Its novelty has worn off and consists largely of disagreeable cretins wanting 15 minutes of fame or washed up celebrities desperate for a comeback.

I enjoy The Amazing Race, largely because of the travel aspect to it. Other than that, +1000 for what said^ I call those shows Unreality TV. There's so much faux drama, it's insane.

The only "reality" shows I like and regularly watch are Ancient Aliens, Ghost Adventures and anything that Josh Gates and Erin Ryder participates in. I especially love when they run marathons of the series on days when dealing with hangovers. It's a great way to recover from drunken nights with some tasty buds to stimulate the mind and soothe the body!
