Not yet, but I heard that there might be a 3-team trade involving the Lakers, Magic and Cavaliers.

If Howard goes to LA, then I'm thinking the Kobe-Nash-Howard 'Big 3' trumps Miami's, even taking into account the Heat's addition of Ray Ray.

I'm about to the point where I wish Brett Favre would come out of retirement just so ESPN would talk about anything else besides Dwight Howard.

I don't understand how any NBA GM would even want Dwight Howard on their team knowing that he could get them and their coaches fired. Why the Magic fire Van Gundy knowing that Howard probably doesn't want to say there any?

If Adam Scott doesn't win this he should be forced to change his last name to Van Der Velde.

I dub thee Adam Van Der Velde. Els was Clutch (emphasis on the capital c) on 18 but Scott has absolutely choked this.

Not Normanish, in order to reach that level Els would have to had miss the green completely on his second shot and then bank his chip shot off the clubhouse, off some concession stand worker and finally off Mike Tirico's head in the broadcast booth, onto the green where it last gasp rolls into the cup.

So Tiger goes another season without winning a Major. And it wasn't so long ago that the van Pelt's of the sports center world were slurping in anticipation of Woods overtaking Nicklaus' record of winning 18 Majors - it was only a matter of time. ESPN were already trying to figure out whether Federer surpassing Sampras was/would be more or less impressive than Tiger surpassing the Golden Bear.
What happened? Is it really Tiger's private life scandals that have contributed to the stalling in his acquisition of Major titles? Or is Tiger just 'normally' great rather than 'phenomenonaly' great?
Nicklaus won his first 14 majors by the time he was 35 - over a period between 1963 to 1975 . His next Major was in 1978, while his last was in 1986, five years after his penultimate Major.
Woods' last Major (his 14th) was in 2008 when he was 32. He has accumulated his victories over an eleven year period.
It is arguable that up until now there are no significant differences between what Tiger's done and what Jack did. What is different is how sports is now reported by fanboy sensationalist starfuckers.
While there's still plenty of time for Woods to achieve 19 Majors, his domination (over the psyches of his competitors) may be at an end. Will he do it? Do I care?

I wouldn't count Woods out yet. Augusta National is tailor made for him as is St. Andrews when the Open is played there. I figure he will be good for at least two more green jackets. If he picks off an Open at St. Andrews and then one more major somewhere along the way he'll be tied with Jack. And if you consider Woods and Nicklaus to have had similar careers up to this point remember that Jack won three majors after he was 40. If Woods does the same he will only need one in the next eight years to match Jack. The big variable is going to be his health. Jack had a few back problems every now and then but his knees held up a lot better than Woods' have up to this point.
A better question might be how many more majors does McIlroy have to win before we start including him in this discussion.

He's not on steroids any longer. During the divorce negotiations, his now ex-wife threatened to expose him if he goes back on the juice.

Cant believe Murray is at 1-1. A set down, 5-1 down, and he levels via tie break to 1 set all. Cant watch the rest of the match almost midnight here in the UK, I hope I wake up to a Murray win or at least in a winning position. A strange match so far.

The NRL - the Australian competition, in which a NZ franchise (the Warriors) competes - has reached its Finals Series. The top eight teams from the regular season competition, known as the Minor Premiership, take part in the Finals; this year the Canterbury Bulldogs (the Minor Premiers), the Melbourne Storm, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, the Manly Sea Eagles, the North Queensland Cowboys, the Canberra Raiders, the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and the Brisbane Broncos. In 2012 the format of the has changed from .
The Bulldogs beat the Sea Eagles on Friday Night (Australian time) in a bruising encounter, in which the Seagles demonstrated their general c-wordishness. Next week they will host the winner of this Saturday night's Cowboys-Broncos game when they will hopefully be severely butt reamed. The Bulldogs have a bye into the Preliminary Finals round, which if they win will see them into the Grand Final on 30 September (Australian time).
Regarding the change of format - this year Manly (as fourth seed) played Canterbury (first seed), in the first game of the first week of finals' play, and did not get eliminated when they lost. Last year as fourth seed Manly would have played the fifth seeded team (this year North Queensland), in the last game of the the first week of finals' play, and may have faced elimination depending on the results of the prior games played (and if they had lost). This year's format seems to reward seedings better than previously.
End of Season Finals/Playoff series in American Sports seem to be a collage of the logical, lucky and arcane. From the marathons of the NBL and NHL (where the debate is about reseeding or not), through the momentum driven NFL and MBL (where often the 'lucky' wild-card team is the one carrying form and intensity into the playoffs and is ultimately successful on the back of that), to the contrasting College formats (a well-organized, logical and genuinely national basketball tournament that rewards genuine success no matter where a team comes from versus an opinion driven football championship that favors certain conferences and certain teams). Such is the wonderful diversity of the US...no, really...

^You're so right grover and I should have mentioned Serena in my post above. Forgive me, I have posted only twice today amidst the celebrations at my club the past 20 hours or so which I've been very much part of, [xx)]. Serena looked finished in the third set but I've said before on ADT that I would NEVER bet against Serena, well not until it's certain age stops her from ever winning again. A truly remarkable tennis player with a great story, a huge fan of hers for so many reasons. :)

NRL Grand Final on Sunday in Sydney. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs against Melbourne Storm. Personally not a fan of either club, but I'll probably support the Doggies 'cos they've got more NZers in their team.
The other big oval ball sport in Australia, Aussie Rules, is having its GF on Saturday. Aussie Rules (an awesome combination of soccer, handball and a gang fight) is huge in Melbourne while the home of Rugby League is Sydney. Saturday's AFL Grand Final is between the Hawthorn Hawks and the Sydney Swans.
So a Melbourne team is playing in the Rugby League Final while a Sydney team is playing in the Aussie Rules Final. I'm just calling it interesting, since ironic has no meaning post-Alanis Morrisette.

First match of the Ryder Cup just started. Furyk and McDowell both yanked their tee shots left into the gallery.

Getting hammered in the four ball by the US. Overall score is 5-2 at the moment in their favour, no better time than now to go to bed (just after midnight here).

I guess the one good thing about the Chiefs sucking a golf ball through a garden hose today is that I don't have to flip back and forth to the Ryder Cup. U.S. is doing a good job of pissing down their leg right now. What the fuck was that on the 8th tee Webb Simpson? I've seen better shots from the celebrities at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Watson might as well concede the whole damn match. If you can't win a hole where your opponent puts his tee shot in the water and you don't then you aren't going to win any holes where your opponent isn't splashing his tee shot.

God damn it Mickelson have you watched the fucking scoreboard? Stop clapping when Rose hits a good shot and put him away. Europe has a killer instinct today. When they get someone down they don't get up. The U.S. has a play in their own feces with a stick instinct today.

How many shots have we seen this week of Poulter clapping when his opponent beats him on a hole? Might have something to do with Poulter being 4-0. Meanwhile clappy clappy Mickelson is going to fart away a point to Europe.
