Me too, love to and have in the past occasionally discussed movies with friends here, but they seem long gone as I was too for a while, tbh dunno why keep coming back to ADT when nothing changes and porn is getting worse. I think that is why.. to rally against the downward spiral of my beloved porn.

Anyway will stop posting in this thread.

Midsommar

I liked it but not nearly as much as Ari Aster's last movie Hereditary. Still Midsommar was really well done. I must be in the minority because Hereditary is 7.3 on IMDB and Midsommar is 8.0

Varsity Blues

I've never seen this movie until earlier today as I was flicking through the channels. I didn't know Paul Walker was in it and I thought the movie was a comedy. I thought it was a good movie. There are better sports movies but it was better than I thought it would be.

Beast staring Jessie Buckley and Johnny Flynn.
About a woman who starts dating a man who may be responsible for some murders in their town.
OK but I don't think I'd watch it again

22 Jump Street

I watched the first one the other night so I wanted to watch this one since I haven't seen it in awhile. I like the story (though similar to the first one) but its a good funny movie. I like the first one better but the sequel is good.

Widows with Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Colin Farrell, Liam Neeson and Robert Duvall. Good movie, a group of women whose husbands are killed during a robbery, are told by the robbery victim that they need to repay the stolen $2 million dollars. They have the plans for their husbands next job so decide to carry this out.
Enjoyable

Vox Lux, enjoyed it. Not normally a fan of Natalie Portman but she was good in this as was Jude Law as the sleazy agent.

^ You didn't like her in Jackie or Black Swan? She's great in those.

^^^I haven't watched "Jackie" so can't say.
It's a few years since I watched "Black Swan" so I'd need to refresh my memory.
Natalie Portman probably was good but I've an idea I didn't like the film in general.

"Lords of Chaos" staring Rory Culkin and Emory Cohen about the Norwegian Black Metal scene. Very good film, both the leads are excellent and I found the subject interesting.

"I Melt With You" staring Thomas Jane, Jeremy Piven, Rob Lowe and Christian McKay. 4 old college friends have their annual reunion which they spend getting fucked up before it comes to a messy end. Good film, brilliant soundtrack.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

I don't want to spoil so I will say that I loved it. Typical Tarantino, it's a slow burn (Pun intended). The highlights include a blow torch and a sociopath being stomped in a door threshold.

"Manson Family Massacre" didn't really like it, rather poor horror film
